Artists Website: www.kathytaylor.co.uk

Welcome

This site showcases two online artist’s books about the impact of war on soldiers.
Vegetables are used in Kathy Taylor’s work as metaphors for the attitude of the military, and by implication, society, to men as disposable ‘cannon fodder’.

The books are part of a larger body of art work called, ‘Market Forces’.  The work was first inspired by the sight of vegetables in the deserted Borough Market in south London. Some were stacked, bagged, fresh and shiny, seemingly awaiting their fate and some were discarded and rotting on the ground in broken boxes.
